PHOTO PICS
Privacy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Photo Pics processes your selected photos on your device. The photo-selection app does not upload your photos, thumbnails or shortlist to a photo-processing server.
Photos and folder access
You choose which source folder the app can read and which destination folder it can write to, using your browser’s folder picker and permission controls. The app reads JPG/JPEG files and subfolders to show previews, and writes copies of your selected originals to the destination.
It does not edit or delete your source photos. Copied originals retain their embedded metadata. Files in folders you grant access to can contain personal information; choose those folders deliberately and review copies before sharing them.
Information stored in your browser
To resume your work, the app uses localStorage and IndexedDB on your device. This includes favourite relative filenames, viewing preferences, the active folder session, folder references and labels, session timestamps, and records of incomplete copies when available. These records are not a cloud backup.
The alternate folder picker stores a fingerprint derived from relative filenames, file sizes and modification times to recognise an unchanged selection. Preview images are cached temporarily in memory; they are cleared when you refresh or change folders. Original photo files are not saved in the app’s browser database.
Browser data is specific to the website address and browser profile. Moving between localhost, a preview address and photopics.in does not automatically move your favourites.
Your choices and retention
Saved selections remain in your browser until you clear site data or the browser removes it. You can revoke folder permissions through the browser’s site settings and clear the site’s stored data. Clearing that data removes saved selections and folder references, not your original photos or completed destination copies. Private browsing and browser storage limits may shorten retention.
Export a selection backup before clearing data or changing browsers. Exported JSON files contain a folder label and favourite relative filenames, not photos. You control where those files are stored and whom you share them with; delete them from your downloads or backup storage when no longer needed.
Website delivery and hosting
Loading the website requires network requests for its pages and code. Hosting and network providers may process ordinary request information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver and secure the site. Local photo processing does not make website visits anonymous.
The current preview is served through the ChatGPT Sites platform, which may also require platform sign-in and use its own service cookies. Those platform services are separate from Photo Pics’ local photo workflow. This notice will be updated when the public domain’s hosting setup changes.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The current Photo Pics application code does not set advertising cookies or include analytics or advertising scripts. Its saved progress uses browser storage as described above. A display-ad layout has been prepared, but advertising is disabled.
If advertising or analytics are introduced, this notice will be updated to describe the providers, information used and available choices, and any required consent controls will be implemented before those services are enabled.
If you contact us
Email is optional. If you write to webuildyourthoughts5@gmail.com, the Photo Pics team receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. These are handled through email services, including Gmail, to respond to your enquiry and investigate reported issues. They are separate from the photos and selections held locally by the app.
Please send only what is needed to explain your question. Support messages may remain in the support mailbox; contact us at the same address to ask about access to or deletion of correspondence. We cannot retrieve selections that were stored only in your browser.
Questions and updates
For privacy questions, email webuildyourthoughts5@gmail.com. We will revise this page when the app’s data practices change and update the date above.
